From the first solar generator to an innovative development partner in the energy transition

Today marks a special moment for a familiar innovator in our network: Volta Energy. Exactly ten years ago, their very first solar generator was deployed, before the company was officially founded. A small pilot setup at GreenTrust Consultancy that, in retrospect, became the starting point for a new generation of sustainable mobile energy.

What began as a handmade trailer with batteries and solar panels has, within a decade, grown into an internationally operating company with more than sixty colleagues. And above all: an organization that shows how quickly innovation can progress when you keep testing, building, and improving.

From pioneering to further development

Over the past ten years, Volta Energy has developed multiple generations of emission-free generators. Solar energy forms the basis, but the team is now also working on battery-controlled systems and new concepts involving hydrogen. Always with the same mission: delivering reliable, sustainable mobile energy in locations where no grid connection is available.

Their solutions are now widely applied: from construction sites and events to temporary energy supply for municipalities and companies.

Innovating together

Volta Energy actively uses the Connectr ecosystem, including test and demonstration opportunities at the Energy Demo Field. Here, innovations can be tested and further developed under realistic conditions.

In addition, Volta Energy received the Groeiversneller Demonstratie Energie, through which Oost NL and Connectr provide support in further professionalizing and demonstrating their newest generation of systems. This combination of expertise, testing opportunities, and acceleration helps the company bring its technology to market and practical application more quickly.

A mission that remains unchanged

Despite their growth, the core remains the same as ten years ago: making emission-free mobile energy accessible and gradually replacing diesel generators.
