Research, practice and innovation come together for a future-proof energy system
On Monday, the HAN Power Lab was officially opened. The lab is a collaboration between HAN University of Applied Sciences and ElaadNL and forms a new place where research, practice and innovation come together to prepare the energy system for the next step.
The physical lab is located in HAN@Connectr, in the Connectr Innovation Lab at Cleantech Park Arnhem.
Answers to new challenges in the energy system
The electrification of our society is accelerating. From charging infrastructure to heat pumps, solar inverters and home batteries: more and more devices are being connected to the electricity grid. This offers enormous opportunities, but also places new demands on the energy system.
These devices not only use energy, but also influence the voltage quality (Power Quality) of the grid. In the HAN Power Lab, researchers, students and partners work together on knowledge and solutions that help grid operators, market parties and knowledge institutions design, integrate and scale new technologies more effectively.
In this way, the lab contributes to a reliable and future-proof electricity grid.
Working together on energy innovation
In the Power Lab, HAN and ElaadNL work together with partners from the energy ecosystem on practical solutions that can be directly applied in practice. The lab therefore strengthens the role of the region as a place where energy innovations are developed, tested and scaled.
